A bridge can be used to fill a gap, due to one or two missing teeth. There are some different types of bridges and your dentist will explain the difference. In many instances, a dental implant may be a better solution to fill a gap and implants are generally a longer lasting solution.
However, implants can be more expensive and the treatment can take much longer (5-6 months compared to a few weeks). Like all dental treatments, the success of a bridge or implant is very dependent on the oral health at the start of the treatment and the continuing oral hygiene regime.
Your dentist, will talk you through your options and can show you pictures of possible outcomes.
