Veneers are a plastic or porcelain coating bonded to the surface of a cosmetically imperfect tooth. They can be applied where they are required to improve the appearance of teeth rather than to repair trauma or decay.
Often a small amount of enamel will be removed from the front of the tooth to prepare and provide room for the veneer to be fitted. They can last from 5-20 years depending on the type and material used. They are very strong and so there should be no restriction on what can be eaten or drunk.
